YO! TO-KI-YO! TOKYO! 2nd Trip down, 1st Day! 12.27.2008

Our first day back in Tokyo, I took Kathryn to the Mori Arts Center! There they have an open sky deck and an awesome art museum. Perhaps, you remember when I went earlier in my trip. Anyway, it was nice to enjoy this building at night. In the back ground is Tokyo Tower. It is a television tower. Apparently, it is being knocked down in 2010 because everything is becoming digital. However, I am not sure how true this is considering Tokyo Tower just celebrated its 50th Anniversary. So, I suppose we will see! After the sky deck we went and enjoyed a contemporary artists from India. His perspective was very interesting and he had some absolutely wonderful pieces. I am not the world's largest contemporary art fan but his work was really good!
**!!SISSY!!**
After the Mori Art Center we stayed in the building and went to a restaurant on the 5F called Rigoletto's. We split a salad and pizza and had cocktails! We then went to Maduro in The Park Hyatt Hotel - Roppongi. John and his niece, Linda, joined us for the tail end of dinner and cocktails at the Park Hyatt. Kathryn and I could not stay out too late - even though we did - because we were off to Nikko with Aki!
This is Kathryn enjoying her apple, ginger, something cocktail - it was quite good!
I of course was drinking wine!
We were seated right next to the kitchen. That was pretty fun because we were able to watch them make every ones meals and make sure they did not spit in their food! hee hee just kidding.
Here is a fun and creative picture taken by John Amari himself of Kathryn, Me, and Linda! We drank umeshu here. It is a traditional plum wine here in Japan. It is sweet and delicious! Then adorable as we are! Itako in the house! Kathryn, Me, & John! John so nicely gave me bunny ears!
Here is a picture taken from the outside of the lounge! It was quite nice. Megan gave me an excellent guide to Tokyo. Kathryn and I went to several of the places on the list! This was one of them! It was not worth the cover to get a table so rather we sat at the bar and were able to listen to live music from there!
It was off to sleep for us. It was off to Nikko! Nikko is a historical town about 2 hours north west of Tokyo. It is one of the oldest towns in Japan. There you can enjoy many temples and waterfalls and if you are lucky you will even see monkeys. Nikko is known for the see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil monkeys.
